Basel

It stopped raining long enough for a day trip to Basel with Samantha. Gotta love the Swiss for their efficient systems of organization to get us there in a hour on the train. The sights and sounds of a new city was a breath of fresh air. We walked through cobblestone streets filled with beautiful architecture, stopping at a church to light a candle. Next to the Kunstmuseum Basel to see the Renoir exhibit. I am always inspired by those with the gift of art and as I walked around I thought of how universal it is to create beauty in all cultures and languages... We are children of the Creator... Grateful for a quiet moment....

The Rhine river was beautiful with a bit of sun coming through.... I think my favorite was admiring the art work at a fountain by a Swiss Sculptor, Jean Tinguely. I love the image of water moving through the art.... in someway making it come alive. It had both beauty and personality that made me smile..

With just minutes to spare we bought an ice cream in the train station for the ride home..
