transportation

My day usually includes walking, buses, trains, and time waiting, moving with my books.  Reading a thought from Lucy Calkins as she reads Donald Murray's book, A Writer Teaches Writing, " I remember looking up from the pages of that book and seeing the sun create a glittering path across the sea to where I sat and thinking, This is the book giving me my path."

Agree-  I have always thought that books were my best traveling companions but also kind of like my first-aid kit..

"Spirituality is the consciousness of victory over self and of communion with the infinite."  President David O'Mckay

I am always amazed at how no matter what book I am reading it seems to weave itself into all of me--  Continually coming to know that words from above also bring clarity and understanding to my work at school;  hoping  my roots are intertwining and growing deeper!

"How do we make sure that children pause and think across the terrain of the book they're reading noticing threads, asking weighty questions, making deep connections, and deriving large meaning, so that in the end, reading leads them to large meaning, so that in the end, reading leads them to reflect not only on the books but also on their lives."

Delayed train, no problem, I've got it covered!
