a field trip---
My own little field trip with Alison to the temple in Bern-- Happy that the only coat I had to zip was my own! I love not worrying about traffic and knowing that I will always be on time with my Swiss train pass -- but a car ride and chat was a welcome change. The temple brought a morning to sit in a place that centers me, brings peace, and encourages me to be become more...
A quick lunch and then off to visit a sweet sister in a care center in a small village near Thun. We wound through hills and valleys before coming to a village out of a storybook. The quiet, peaceful, simple life seemed enchanted. With not much German, Alison visited while I explored. The church and steeple stands in the center as if guarding this beautiful place.. I walk up a path and am greeted by three goats-- I jump in response... wondering if a troll and bridge will join the scene. I find a little cottage at the top of a hill that overlooks the valley and sit down taking a photo to make this moment last---
The drive home included a stop at a Swiss second hand shop full of treasures-- I might be back for one of those cow bells and a pair of shoes that I've pretty much have convinced myself Heidi actually wore....We laughed and talked as I enjoyed my snack.... the little Mormon shop next to the temple sells American sweets!
A successful field trip and no one got lost! Blessings---
